Alain Miquelon joined the Montréal Exchange on August 6, 2007 as Executive Vice-President, Head of Strategic Development. Since October 1, 2007, he also assumes the role of Chief Financial Officer. He also acts as Secretary for the MX's Joint Audit Committee.
From 2000 to 2007, Mr. Miquelon served as COO and Executive Vice-President Corporate Development and CFO at Mediagrif Technologies, a B2B internet-based services company headquartered in Montréal. Before 2000, he held a succession of financial management positions with Memotec Communications, ScotiaMcLeod’s Investment Banking Division and Arthur Andersen. Mr. Miquelon is a Chartered Accountant who was educated at HEC Montréal and INSEAD, France, where he earned an MBA.
Mr. Bitton presently serves as Vice-President, Research and Development at the Montréal Exchange. Mr. Bitton has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. Mr. Bitton has led the research and development effort related to most of the Montréal Exchange current listed derivatives products. He holds a Master degree from the University of Québec in Montréal in collaboration with the Florida International University.
Mr. Bitton is Member of the Board of the Research Center CIRANO and was formerly a member of the Board of the Association des MBA du Québec and of the Board of MITACS (Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems). He also acts regularly as a speaker and advisor to various associations and organizations in the financial and environmental sectors.
Joanne Elkaim joined the Montréal Exchange in 2003 as Manager, Business Development, and was appointed Director, Financial Markets in 2007. In this capacity, Mrs. Elkaim is responsible for business development activities in the fixed income derivative market segment worldwide. In addition to leading a team in Montréal, she oversees the Montréal Exchange offices in United Kingdom and the United States. She is also involved in evaluating strategic opportunities to improve Montréal Exchange's position in the fixed income segment. As well, Mrs. Elkaim devotes efforts to developing the Montréal Climate Exchange since January 2011.
Mrs. Elkaim has more than 15 years of experience in the derivatives industry. Before joining the Exchange, she held positions at Fimat Canada and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. She holds a B.A. in Finance from Concordia University and is completing her MBA degree at Queen's University. Joanne Elkaim also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
